Development and Data Coordinator

Position Objective:

As a Development and Data Coordinator, your focus will be supporting legacy marketing campaigns, including database tracking and reporting on results, and overseeing response fulfillment. Additionally, you will have a unique opportunity to connect with some of PETA’s most important members to strengthen relationships and boost member engagement.

Who is the PETA Foundation’s Legacy Gifts Team?

Our close-knit team is comprised of dedicated individuals who work to assist special PETA supporters in funding the organization’s life-saving programs to help animals in need with unique giving opportunities. Through strategic marketing, relationship building, and interdepartmental collaboration, our team ensures PETA’s work for animals is possible far into the future. Location:

This is a full-time position located at our headquarters in Norfolk, VA. There is an option for some work to be performed remotely from a location close to the office if desired.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• In consultation with PETA and in verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements communicated by it:

o Oversee  response fulfillment including database accuracy and hygiene in coordination with the Legacy Gifts Data and Fulfillment Assistant

o Coordinate Legacy survey response mapping and uploads

o Use the department's database system to fulfill incoming requests for estate information and confirmation of estate gifts

o Perform detailed data entry of PETA donor information and use database systems to generate reports

o Perform other database, reporting, or marketing tasks assigned by the supervisor 

o Track estate income and assist with related estate projects

• Respond to select inquiries and requests for assistance from PETA's Augustus Club members and legacy gift prospects
• Articulate PETA's objectives as well as details about specific PETA programs to PETA's Augustus Club members and legacy gift prospects
• Discern and document pertinent information about PETA's legacy gift members for the purpose of enhancing member profiles
• Assist with the preparation of mailings and e-mails to PETA's legacy gift members
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

• A college degree or equivalent fundraising experience
• Minimum of one year of fundraising experience
• Experience with fundraising software or similar database systems and Windows operating systems
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization and proven ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
• Ability to interact with PETA donors in a professional and personable manner
• Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
• Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven effective research skills
• Demonstrated ability to prepare professional business communications
• Proven exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
• Proven ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven ability to take initiative, work independently, and use discretion in confidential matters
