About the Research and Regulatory Affairs Department

The Research and Regulatory Affairs Department conducts a variety of campaigns and collaborative efforts to make medical education, basic research, and product testing more human-focused and compassionate. Building on our milestone achievements like ending the use of animals in medical student training and passing federal legislation to drastically reduce the use of animals in chemical testing, our scientists and policy experts work to stop animal experiments and redirect funding toward effective nonanimal methods. We work with scientists, the public, journalists, lawmakers, and celebrities to raise awareness about the pitfalls of animal research and testing and about the value of human-relevant methods.
