Job Description

Position Objective:

To manage PETA’s activist-led protest and outreach work to increase the effectiveness and frequency of demonstrations and encourage deeper commitments to animal rights

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with our team of outreach staff to oversee various activist-led campaigns and projects, ensuring that we meet all necessary deadlines and goals

• Collaborate with other departments to complete literature orders and design requests, prepare media releases, and make sure that we are maximizing our and activists’ impact

• Monitor our national presence with activists and look for areas of potential growth to expand our network of allies and fill any geographical gaps

• Perform independent research and analysis related to a variety of PETA campaigns

• Exercise sound judgment and confidentiality at all times

• Travel to demonstrations in support of PETA campaigns

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

 

Qualifications:

• Proven excellent project management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills

• Minimum of three years of project or personnel management experience

• Knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns

• Demonstrated excellent decision-making skills and the proven ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment

• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Proven excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

• Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle

• Commitment to the objectives of the organization and ability to professionally advocate PETA’s positions on issues to the public
