About the Position: Animal Place’s Brave the Cage Challenge invites the public (with an emphasis on college campuses) to learn what life is like for 94% of hens in the egg industry by experiencing confinement inside a human-sized battery cage.
Position Objectives: To expand Animal Place’s Brave the Cage outreach by traveling extensively and setting up tabling events. This is a telecommuting position to be based out of Sacramento or the Bay Area. May involve up to 8 weeks out of the year traveling across the country. Animal Place provides a van for all travel.
Reports To: Brave the Cage Campaign Manager
Responsibilities and Duties: • Identify tabling opportunities for the Brave the Cage Challenge in Northern California. • Coordinate all Northern California Brave the Cage tabling events. • Drive to tabling location, set up cage and materials and encourage people to spend a few minutes inside a human-sized hen battery cage. Travel will include some overnight trips. • Interface with the public in a compassionate, confident, and respectful manner. • Increase subscriber and support base by acquiring e-mails and other contact information while tabling. • Coordinate the travel logistics for assigned tours and events. • Manage expenses. • Initially focus outreach efforts to college campuses. • Liaise with Grass Valley office staff about inclusion on social networking sites and corresponding blog posts. • Catalog and process all data gathered on tabling tours and events. • Provide written information and photos for different social media channels to the Grass Valley staff to post. • Work to facilitate increased community awareness; assist in tabling at offsite events related to Animal Place’s mission when needed. • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications: • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver’s license and a minimum of three years of driving experience with a satisfactory driving record. • Proven knowledge of and interest in animal farming and animal rights issues and in Animal Place’s mission and campaigns. • Demonstrated willingness and ability to initiate conversations about animal farming issues and veganism and communicate effectively with a variety of people. • Proven excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and keep a flexible schedule. • Familiar with social media platforms and technology. • Comfortable with Word, Excel, PowerPoint (or similar), and video technology. • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle. • Comfortable lifting and managing up to 50-pounds when needed. • Ability to walk and stand for several hours at a time. • Support for Animal Place’s philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate Animal Place’s positions on issues. • Commitment to the objectives of the organization. • Comfortable with traveling and being away from “home base” for short periods of time.

Job Title: Digital Fundraising & Education Coordinator
Job Status: Part-time, contract
Region Specific Location (Sacramento): Remote position, must be within 1 hour driving distance to Grass Valley office, able to come into Grass Valley office once a week.
Job Description: Implement a coordinated digital fundraising plan that includes expanding online giving program and donor engagement and nurturing. Aid education department in the promotion of Animal Place’s mission of veganism through writing, tours, tabling, corporate giving, and other outreach efforts.
A strong commitment to Animal Place’s mission of veganism and animal rights.
Familiarity with Pardot, Salesforce, Classy, and WordPress strongly encouraged.
At least two years experience working in non-profit and specifically with online marketing and/or digital fundraising.
A work history that shows a progressively challenging work experience.
Ability to work independently and remotely in a fashion that maintains strong and open lines of communication with supervisor and colleagues.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of current fundraising trends, social media, mobile, and pertinent digital acquisition trends.
Strong writing skills, with 2-3 samples of varied styles of writing.
Flexible schedule and comfort traveling to Grass Valley sanctuary 1 time a week and whenever needed.
Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
Design experience suggested but not required.
Project management experience in digital material and marketing required.

Familiarity with farmed animal issues and veganism.
Develop and implementation of digital fundraising programs including e-newsletters, e-mail acquisition, online content monetization, digital fundraising via website, e-mail, mobile, and social media.
Manage engagement and cultivation of leads acquired through online fundraising, and create ways to foster higher giving levels.
Assist in email marketing to expand re-curring gift program (monthly donors), sponsorship program (animal foster sponsor), and other online donor acquisition ideas.
Assist with social media coordinator to foster member cultivation on social media, web, mobile, and developing platforms.
Create digital fundraising and membership procedures to ensure digital donors receive a structured, appropriate online and digital giving opportunities.
Work with the education director to set benchmarks across all digital fundraising channels.
Evaluate and reports monthly on project accomplishments and budgets. Analyze data and make recommendations.
Improve response rates and increase online donor retention.
Promote the work of the sanctuary through online media.
Assist with online and offline fundraising efforts.

Membership & Education Coordinator
About the position : The Membership & Education Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the donor database, processing gifts through the database as well as developing and implementing activities designed to attain and retain donors. Additionally, the Coordinator assists the Education team with events, tours, and other educational activities.
Main job tasks and responsibilities
Prepare and edit donor correspondence
Generate donor prospect leads through a variety of sources
Identify and invite donors to Animal Place events
Prepare acknowledgement letters and thank donors for their gifts
Contact donors to resolve questions, inconsistencies, and issuing data related to their donations
Return phone calls and emails from donors with questions/issues
Phone donors to thank for their contributions
Call donors to solicit gifts
Input donor information into database (Salesforce)
Merge data from the database, print letters, check for errors, route for signing and mailing
Make necessary corrections to information entered in the database and keep track of the corrections
Generate detailed and appropriate reports through Salesforce
Create and implement a donor recruitment plan
Promote Animal Place to prospective donors
Develop and implement plan for upgrading giving level of existing donors
Coordinate the monthly giving program (craft monthly correspondence letter, prepare mailing labels, oversee credit card deductions, send monthly communication via snail mail and email
Assist the director increase number of monthly donors and giving amounts
Familiar with or quick to learn Pardot marketing tool and Classy fundraising platform
