Traveling Campaigner
PETA Foundation
Position Objective: To manage PETA's many cutting-edge campaigns and work with activists across the country to bring attention to animal rights issues   Primary Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and manage cutting-edge campaigns against companies and industries that abuse animals • Organize and attend street-theater–style protests worldwide • Track and analyze the success of demonstrations and media events and strategize accordingly • Act as a PETA spokesperson and conduct interviews with local and national television outlets, radio stations, newspapers, and magazines • Maintain relationships with local activists and help them develop the skills they need to speak out for animals • Work with the PETA Foundation's Production Department to create provocative materials that further animal rights or push companies to change • Work with PETA's affiliates in Europe, India, and the Asia-Pacific region to generate international support for animal rights campaigns • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor   Qualifications: • Degree in a related field or equivalent experience • Minimum of three years of grassroots activism experience • Previous public speaking experience • Proven thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns • Proven desire and willingness to participate in provocative campaigns • Proven excellent project management, strategic thinking, and analytical skills • Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Proven excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines • Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle • Ability and willingness to travel extensively • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record • Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues • This position requires proof of the COVID-19 full vaccination • Commitment to the objectives of the organization

Position Objective: To perform outreach associated with PETA’s educational anti-vivisection tour nationwide   What to Expect: PETA is seeking an outgoing, energetic crew member as a part of an education and outreach crew. This is a travelling position and you are expected to be able to travel starting immediately. As part of this team, you will represent PETA and deliver a compelling message against cruelty to animals to the public that will inspire them to relate to animals used in experiments. Position Objective: To use a variety of undercover investigative methods to conduct field investigations in PETA's focus areas, including the use of animals for food, clothing, experimentation, and entertainment   Location: Varies based on assignment   Primary Responsibilities and Duties: • Travel to different states and temporarily stay on location for various assignments for as long as necessary, sometimes several months at a time • Conduct assigned short- and long-term field observations from beginning to end, including the following duties: o Prepare for and research assignments, as directed by the vice president o Visit and/or obtain employment in various industries that use animals            o Submit daily log notes in a detailed and orderly fashion            o Use photography and videography to document conditions and use of animals as well as illegal, cruel, and/or improper conduct            o Behave legally and professionally and bring issues to the superiors' attention            o Work closely with office-based staff to develop documented cases            o Cooperate fully in criminal, civil, and/or regulatory/administrative proceedings that result from field observations • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times   Requirements: • Appropriate experience in a related field or relevant experience, depending on the organization's needs • Willingness and ability to travel and be away from home for months at a time • Experience with audio-visual equipment • Diligent attention to detail and ability to handle extreme stress • Willingness and ability to follow instructions carefully • Ability to make sound judgments • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion at all times • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis •  This position requires proof of the COVID-19 full vaccination • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
