This position is perfect for a team player who can take our social media presence to the next level and beyond.
This is a remote position within a fully remote team. Candidates must reside within the continental United States. Our Social Media Manager will be working closely with our content development team and department directors to create an engaging and large-scale social media presence for the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies that includes but is not limited to managing all CNS social media channels, seeking out new social media avenues, and connecting with current community members and potential customers.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, highly skilled, and organized team player with innovative ideas, lots of creativity, and significant experience to join the CNS staff. Position Overview:
The Social Media Manager is responsible for positioning CNS as the original plant-based research authority across all social media platforms and managing the voice and image of the organization to build brand awareness and trust among current community members and reach new community members. The Social Media Manager uses timelines and content schedules to create a consistent flow of new content for community interaction while analyzing, managing and changing schedules where necessary to optimize visits and grow CNS’s online presence.
Essential Functions:
Stay abreast of new developments and opportunities in the industry
Be the first point of contact for online fans and followers, thus engaging and developing loyalty with the online community
Manage the online voice of an organization to build awareness
Implement the social media content plan
Manage Instagram / YouTube / Facebook / Twitter / Linkedin / Pinterest and other relevant social accounts
Grow CNS’s online community using various metrics to find growth opportunities
Keep current online community members engaged and relay their comments to the departments as applicable
Maintain close contact with all departments to stay current on new programs and services
Ensure brand consistency across all social platforms
Grow the organization’s presence in marginalized and minority communities to ensure members of these communities see themselves in our posts and ads
Research emerging social media platforms and determine their effectiveness for our message and precedence online
Optimize content following current SEO best practices
Work as part of a team to develop large social media campaigns
Analyze and report appropriate social media statistics to content developers to determine the success of social media efforts
Advice content developers on trends and new ideas for content
Manage social media communications
Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
Experience managing social media platforms
SEO optimization knowledge and experience
PPC knowledge is a plus
Experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube is essential
Experience with TikTok is a plus
Knowledge of Sprout Social or similar programs to manage online postings on different platforms
Proficient in Google Analytics
Knowledge of marketing trends and techniques
Superb time management skills
Experience working with Influencers / Ambassadors
Experience with digital ad creation
Experience in the plant-based world
Effective communicator with the ability to present ideas clearly, energetically, and passionately to individuals, groups, media, etc.
Strong written and oral skills
Demonstrable experience in listening, collaborating, and working closely with colleagues
